UK blues royalty on the roots and trad side. Kingston-born, London-based since the seventies, Big Joe Louis took British Blues Awards Best Male Vocalist in 1993 and 1994. Recorded with Van Morrison and Jools Holland; backed Honeyboy Edwards, Carey Bell, Lazy Lester, Mud Morganfield. The sound: Delta-derived juke-joint blues and R&B, played without concession. Touring Europe and Scandinavia as a trio with Lewis Fielding and Peter Greatorex.
