The Gundog Challenge 2026

The Gundog Challenge 2026, the biggest gundog team test in the UK with 24 teams of 4 dogs from around the UK and the main body of Europe.

The Gundog Challenge is a team competition event where highly trained working dogs will be working with their experienced owners to complete a number of controlled challenges and demonstrations. Teams are coming from all over the country and Europe with some of the best gundog handlers in the world. Each team will be scored by five experienced judges throughout the day on their performance with trophies awarded at the end of the day.

There will also be a Scurry in which all types of dogs can have a go by giving a donation for a chance to win the best time and there will be a trophy for the winner. It’s against the clock and the fastest wins. All are welcome to turn up and enter that on the day.

Come and watch how these highly trained dogs and their owners work. Spectators are welcome, with a suggested ticket donation to charity of either £2, £5 or £10. Please select the amount that you would like to donate in the ticket options below. Cash and card will both be accepted on the day.

There will be teas, coffees and pastries served all morning.

There will also be a live auction on the day to raise money for Cowdray’s nominated charity for 2025, Midhurst Palliative Care funding the Midhurst Macmillan Service. Please note spectators are welcome to come to the prize giving where refreshments will be available for purchase.

Trials will take place in the morning and the afternoon at The Deer Park, with parking available at Benbow Pond (GU28 9BX).

Dogs on leads are welcome, however please note that during the trials shots will be used and any dogs sensitive to loud noises should not attend.

Please note that this event is not subject to VAT. All proceeds from this event will be donated to Midhurst Palliative Care, funding the Midhurst Macmillan Service.
