We believe in producing great quality plants and having knowledgeable staff who provide excellent customer service. Our team knows a lot about the plants we sell - more than 90% of them are grown by us on-site.

Mike’s our resident expert on pest and diseases and he’s worked hard to develop natural control methods. If that's something you’re thinking about just ask, we guarantee your local wildlife will love you for it!

WE’RE ALL ABOUT FAMILY
Three generations of Burtons now live on the nursery, together with a veritable menagerie of dogs and chickens. Ann and David came to Rotherhill in February, 1983. To begin with they rented the nursery and when they had the chance to buy they did just that! The nursery you see today is testament to David and Ann’s shared drive and determination. Their children, Jemma and Mike, continue to build on that and Rotherhill goes from strength to strength!

Mike was born at Rotherhill so you could say it’s in his blood! After leaving school and studying at Merrist Wood, Mike returned to the nursery, knowing that he wanted to take it over in time. He worked alongside David and Ann for many years and, as they’ve moved into retirement, has taken over running the business. Mike’s sister, Jemma, has also returned to the nursery and now runs the bedding production and general sundries departments.

WE ARE PASSIONATE ABOUT OUR PLANTS
Mike and Jemma specialise in growing quality shrubs, perennials and annuals. We are proud to say there is not a BBQ, gift or parasol in sight. Instead we are a traditional working grower selling directly to horticultural trade professionals and the public.
